Please allow me to introduce myself. You may call me Leo. I am originally from Ohio but I have also lived in Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois, Florida, and now I reside in Missouri. No, I am not in a witness protection program, but life has a way of moving you around sometimes.
For the past 27+ years, I have been assisting couples and individuals to resolve their specific emotional concerns. My experiences have utilized multiple modalities of intervention, which include community mental health centers, inpatient psychiatric and recovery centers, partial hospitalization programs, multi-speciality clinics, and private practice. These opportunities have prepared and afforded me the knowledge to address a full spectrum of mental health and relationship concerns. I have found much of my experience has focused on relationships, ranging from dating to marriage, or assisting individuals to move forward after ending a relationship. I find that cognitive therapy largely represents my theoretical approach to treatment. However, I tend to assimilate other theoretical perspectives to best accommodate my client’s specific needs.
I have concluded we tend to make life way too complicated or emotions make it so. I have found the importance of separating truth from emotion, situation from self, and feelings from fact. I have found this approach has proven effective in improving communication and reducing assumptions, while providing enhanced coping skills to address issues including resentment, frustration, anger, trust issues, and trauma. I also emphasize the importance of choice, which when based on one’s own personal truth or wisdom, can facilitate an improved sense of competence, leading to increased confidence, and eventually even enthusiasm.
I would appreciate the opportunity to assist you in resolving your specific relationship concerns or personal mental health needs, while helping you to establish your true sense of self and well-being.
Sincerely and with respect,
Leo J D’Anniballe LCSW, DCSW, BCD
