Cory Standridge, LPC

Cory Standridge completed her Bachelor’s degree in Criminology and then went on to pursue a masters degrees in Human Development and Leadership from Murray State University and a Masters degree in Counseling from Capella University. Cory has made it her life's work to provide people with an environment that is conducive to healing. She has worked in many facets of the helping profession; law enforcement (probation), foster care, youth at risk, in a mental health jail, with veterans, substance abuse, and with women and children. Cory is licensed as a Professional Counselor and has held licenses in Il, Wa, Tx, and Mo. Cory has served as a licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor. Cory has 15 years of counseling experience across a variety of treatment settings include; private practice, substance abuse and community based services. Cory serves children, adolescents, adults, and couples. Cory specializes in anxiety with women and children.

Cory is eclectic and uses a blend of Cognitive Behavioral, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused, and Person Centered approaches to individuals age eight and up. A holistic approach is utilized by exploring with and educating clients about how mind, spirit and body are interconnected. Her theory is that when people have hope and can learn to challenge and replace irrational thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes, people are free to experience change. Cory has a warm, supportive, and collaborative approach that allows her clients and their families to feel at ease immediately. She uses a strengths-based, humor, integrative approach to empower her clients.

Cory is also a trained mediator specializing in parenting plans and provides Co - Parenting Counseling.
