Julie Maples – Compassionate Therapy for Growth

Hi! I’m Julie! First, let’s take a moment to celebrate the fact that you’re here. Seriously, you’re amazing! Searching for a therapist can be tough, so it’s great that you’re taking this step toward working through life’s challenges. Life is hard enough, and you don’t have to face it alone. Let’s see if we’d be a good fit for each other! Some of my greatest joys in life include puppies, coffee, and, most importantly, helping my clients achieve the breakthroughs they’re looking for and find freedom from what holds them back or hurts them. I’m passionate about empowering my clients while making sure they stay in control of their journey, at a pace that feels right for them.

Support Through Struggles

I work with adults (18+) facing challenges such as anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), panic, phobias, bipolar and other mood disorders, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, relationship struggles, life stressors, anger, and more. Whatever you’re going through, I’d be honored to walk alongside you on your path toward growth and healing.  You are welcome here, no matter who you are or where you’ve been. I proudly support and stand with people of color and the LGBTQIA+ community.

Compassionate Counseling Journey

Therapy with me is a mix of support, real talk, and skill-building. Healing isn’t just about talking—it’s about learning tools to create real change. I believe in creating a space where you feel safe, heard, and understood, while also being gently challenged to grow. Together, we’ll uncover the root of what’s going on and work through it using evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma-Informed Care. My approach is warm, inviting, and non-judgmental, grounded in both empathy and lived experience. I like to sprinkle in a little humor, too.
