Cyndi Williams – Compassionate Therapy & Support

I have over fifteen years of experience supporting individuals and families in a variety of settings, including hospital, care management, hospice, bereavement, and in private practice. After a twenty-year successful career running a family business, I felt called to return to school as a non-traditional student to earn my Bachelor's and Master’s degrees in Social Work from Saint Louis University. I am passionate about helping individuals, from teens to older adults, to improve their quality of life by providing mental health education and support, coping tools, emotional support, and encouragement in a safe and client-centered environment.

Compassionate Mental Health Support

We will work together to identify and navigate common mental health struggles such as anxiety, depression, trauma, childhood abuse and neglect, feelings of hopelessness, understanding boundaries, self-image, finding meaning and purpose, relationships, parenting, and life transitions. My approach with all clients is strengths-based and utilizes a variety of therapeutic approaches depending on each client's individual needs.

Support Through Life’s Challenges

I specialize in supporting older adults, those facing chronic or life-limiting health diagnoses, and helping individuals of all ages journey through grief to growth. I feel honored to be trusted by my clients with their vulnerability and believe the client/therapist relationship should be collaborative, empowering individuals with the tools and support needed to begin to thrive and meet their goals. I am an LGBTQ+ affirming professional and have extensive experience working with individuals of diverse racial, cultural, faith, and economic backgrounds.

Guiding Through Grief

I was widowed in 2013 and have three adult children. I have personally experienced many losses of loved ones and feel that this has uniquely equipped me to empathetically support hundreds of families navigating their own grief, utilizing Dr. Alan Wolfelt's campaigning model of care for mourners. I co-founded the St. Louis Community of Modern Widows Club in 2019 and served for five years as a community advocate for more than 900 local widows. During that time I also volunteered as a mental health advisor, speaker, and writer for the Modern Widows Club, an international organization. In 2024, I co-founded the local non-profit St C.R.E.W. – Connect, Recreate, and Empower Widows to support widows in and around the St Louis area.
