Danielle Barclay, LPC, NCC

I have spent nearly a decade helping children and adolescents grow, explore, and thrive through dynamic and accessible therapeutic support. I meet youth where they are at, showing my young clients that no matter where you start, you can always find success. My therapeutic technique adapts to each client I meet, but always incorporates strengths-based concepts and age-appropriate cognitive behavioral strategies on a foundation of person-centered, collaborative work. I believe that trust and connection are at the heart of effective therapy, and I strive to create a safe, welcoming space where kids and teens can be themselves–whether they’re working through anxiety, school stress, life transitions, or just trying to make sense of big feelings.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Missouri, and also a National Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board for Certified Counselors. I graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with two postgraduate degrees: Master of Science in Education in Counseling & Mental Health Services, and Master of Philosophy in Education in Professional Counseling. Prior to that, I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Truman State University. Since entering the field, I have specialized in working with children and giving them the support they need to utilize their strengths to overcome life’s challenges in a variety of settings, including residential, inpatient, and outpatient treatment, as well as in the school environment.
